Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM)

The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) is Malaysia’s national statistical agency and a federal government department responsible for collecting, interpreting, producing, and disseminating official statistics. Its coverage includes economic, demographic, social, environmental, trade, census, and labour-market data used to support public policy, national planning, administration, and evidence-based decision-making. Established in 1949 as the Bureau of Statistics and renamed in 1965 under the Statistics Act 1965, DOSM operates from Putrajaya and maintains statistics offices throughout Malaysia. It provides public statistical publications, data portals, interactive visualisations, census and survey programmes, and data-request services for government bodies, businesses, researchers, and the public.
